Since 2015 The Sumthins have been writing, recording and performing songs. Playing a wide array of mostly covers live while throwing in some originals. The Sumthins started with three main members Colin Schlegel, Brandon Schlegel, and Holden Getz. The trio played live shows with various lineup changes from 2015 through 2018. After the 2018 shows, Holden stepped away for personal reasons. The Sumthins, now only a duo, began releasing music on streaming services in late 2018.

The duo recruited a new live lineup in 2019 consisting of Ray Schlegel (Guitar/Vocals), Andy Kremske (Drums) and Mark Garbe (Bass/Vocals). The group continued releasing music and playing shows. After the 2019 season, the band did not tour or play live in 2020 due to the COVID-19 virus. Brandon and Colin released an abundance of music on streaming. In mid 2020, Mark Garbe the bassist stepped away for health related reasons. The band then recruited bassist/vocalist Rick Schlegel to join the band. After refreshing the live set, the band played a livestream in December of 2020 to debut the new material.

Since 2021 the band has consistently played over 40 shows a year. New original music is still being written and recorded with weekly uploads of covers on YouTube as well as the occasional original song. Colin runs the Sumthins Recording studio full time and mixes all the YouTube releases.

The Sumthins pride themselves on being completely independent. They promote and book their own shows. As well as produce, write, record and distribute their own music onto streaming services.
